Tim Veldman started to play the recorder at the age of six. When he was thirteen he began playing piano. Since 2007 he studies recorder at the Utrecht Conservatory with Heiko ter Schegget. In the same year he took piano lessons from Nata Tsvereli at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen and between 2009 and 2011 he studied piano with Paolo Giacometti in Utrecht. In 2012 he started his harpsichord studies with Siebe Henstra. Tim participated in various competitions, such as the SONBU (2006, semi-finalist), the Prinses Christina Concours and the piano competion of Damwoude (honourable mention), among others. He followed master classes with Bert Honig, Valentina Berman, Kees Boeke, António Carrilho, Dorothea Winter, Conrad Steinmann and Pedro Sousa Silva. Apart from being a recorder, piano and harpsichord player, Tim is also a composer; in 2011 his sonata for three alto recorders was published by Musica Repartita.
